Well its almost been a month since I've updated and quite a bit has happened. First we will start off with...I have a job! I am now the newest addition to the teaching staff at Kaplan College. I will be teaching their communications classes this quarter! Im really excited about it! Kinda nervous but then again who wouldnt be? I start that next week. I have to start doing lesson plans sometime soon. I'll possibly knock some out this weekend while I'm in Amarillo for volleyball.
Next, the table...its actually coming along quite better than I expected. We got the table and four chairs all sanded and striped down a couple weekends ago. We even got one whole chair painted, stained, and sealed before Mother Nature had a mood swing and sent us some hurricane force winds the next day. So we have one complete chair and three stained seats on the other chairs. We still have the leaf of the table and two chairs here that need to go through the process. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us this weekend because my sweet boyfriend is going to be working on getting them finished.
Packing is slowly coming along. Its just hard to pack things up when we are still going to be here for about 2 weeks. Time seems to be crawling along. But we do have about 10-12 boxes packed up. So not too bad. Next weekend will will be packing up everything for sure!!
My girls are doing great, volleyball is rolling right along at the pace it should. I'm very proud at how hard the girls have been working lately. I can see improvements every day in them! I hope they see it too!! We have a scrimmage tonight and then we are going to Amarillo this weekend for a tournament, which will be our last pilgrimage to Amarillo! (Thank Goodness!) Nothing against Amarillo, but the drive sucks especially when you are doing it alone.
JT is doing great at work. They are definitely keeping him busy. But as a special little fun time, he went to a fishing tournament this last weekend with a man he sells chemical to. He had a great time out on the lake. I'm really glad that he was able to go.
Tonight is my birthday party!! 70's roller disco!! Super excited about it!! Last night JT and I made goody bags for everyone to take home!! haha!! Its great to act like a little kid sometimes!! Now hopefully no one hurts themselves trying to skate! I know I havent skated in FOREVER!! So it should be fun to watch.
Have a great rest of the week and weekend...then ON TO MARCH!

February Fun
Well we got an offer to move into the new place a week earlier, the only thing was is that the one we would move into is not on the end. JT and I drove by and checked out the situation but we decided to wait another week and move into the house on the end. Much better we both agreed. Well I am registered to take my Generalist test Feb 23. I just hope this one goes over easily and I can remember the math from 4-8 grade haha.
I got to attend my first month of Bunco and WOW! So much fun! The ladies in the group are so different and its just so great to be around new people. Melissa is so much fun too! I'm glad she is doing it with me!!
AND...to top it off we started SIGN LANGUAGE this last Tuesday. I talked Rachelle and Melissa into doing the class with me. (Not that it took much convincing) lol I am really excited! We have already learned the alphabet and 30 words!! We go every Tuesday!! I cant wait till we go back!! Its so interesting and fun to learn something new.
Grandma Carolyn comes over today to see her doctor. She has been doing so great since her surgery. I hope that all news is good news for her at her appointment today.
Grandpa Dub and his battle with Parkinson's is killing me. I love going over there but his speech is going quickly and its hard to watch him struggle to walk and talk. I told him I would teach him sign language!! haha He just laughed at me.
This weekend JT and I are going to take the table and chairs out to Grady and finally refinish them. We want to get it done before we move into the new place. This weekend is the only real chance we have to work on them. I have a vball tournament the last weekend of this month so we are trying to get as much work done together as possible.
Speaking of volleyball, my girls are so wonderful. We have run into a rough spot of eye rolling and some have stopped trying. It breaks my heart to see girls that have potential stop working hard. We have practice tonight and we will be having a discussion about it.
Birthday is coming up soon! We are having the Roller Disco!! YAY!! I cant wait to see everyone dressed up in 70's outfits! Mom and I are even making "goody bags"!!! I feel like such a little kid again!! haha

A light at the end of the road
Well its only Monday, but this week has already been fantastic. I am a mere 7 hours of observation videos away from being complete. I have applied for 3 jobs. I am signing up to take my Generalist test this week. I am also filling out paperwork to sub for the rest of the year. The job at Nimitz has "been filled" according to a teacher there by a man who has yet to pass his test. I am furious at the fact that they are waiting for someone to pass their test when here I am ready to go. Grrr! So the whole Generalist thing came about while looking at jobs online. Thinking I have limited myself by just wanting to teach special education I am going to expand myself and open up more possibilities. Now its time to sit and wait to hear back from one of the jobs. Blah.
However while I am waiting I guess I can keep myself occupied with packing. Yes thats right, JT and I are moving! YEAH!! We decided to look for a new and bigger place to live since our lease is over with at the end of this month. God is definitely on our side right now. We found a place that we wanted to live as well as a back up plan. The backup plan didnt even need to be looked at. I called the place this morning and they have our condo coming open....at the end of Feb!! Perfect timing! So now begins the road of signing papers, transferring bills and mail, and packing. Oh packing up our crap. But this also means alot of cleaning out. I have a feeling that while we are packing that there will be alot of throwing away and donations being made. Which is a good thing.
So lets hope that I find a job soon so that we can keep on this turn for the better. Ive definitely been needing these positive things happening.
